Unkindly it is probably that I shrank his forehead that renders him simeon and untrustworthy. He is actually a very open minded person who can speak human truths so authenticly (oops, not even sure how to spell that) from his own experience that you'd trust him I gaurantee it. Like someone who had to think their way out of a conservative small town mind set, No fiddles here really it's a digital photo from an angle way off perpendicular of an old film shot.

I think the focus on my canon (sniff, sniff, excuse me, sniff) was a bit out but there was also handshake, I can't remember what sort of lens it was, probably slow. One need only digitally blurr. I guess... What I'm looking forward to is the brightness of the lens more than the focal length d.o.f. thingymebobs. Thanks for the support.

Ian, I have no idea what the cheap second hand lens is but 1:1.3 should be very good lens. And Jim Loy is right.

Ian, I can get the same texture and light pattern with my digital...I could never get the slightly distorted focus of the chap in the background without some sort of newfangled adapter or photo altering software. In that, I agree. Thisis a shot only a film camera can capture.

May suddenly run out and buy an Olympus 8080 but am looking forward to sticking a cheap 2nd hand 55ml 1:1.3 lens on an old canon I have been given (and hopefully can restore) to achieve some flash free low light shots as I have enjoyed doing in the past. (And as no digital that exists can). This photo is 16 years old. I wasn't so thrilled with the outcome at the time but am floating it because I've often gone back to this series of photos and am not confident digital could achieve much better in these settings with out spending thousands and thousands for the camera and then thousands for the lens. Please put me straight if I'm misinformed.

I don?t understand the distortion but I like it. Looks like a digital picture of an old photo. Is it? A good moment.
