Today, we had solid cloud cover after a big thunderstorm came through at 11:00p.m. last night. But, I'm calling it a wonderful day.:-)) Just like your sedum. Your really getting very good with your new Fuji.

Great job with this, Rebecca! What I like is that you achieved the blur at the edges of the leaves, yet the center of the flower cluster remains unblurred (and with a wonderful soft focus!)

This is a beautiful composition and the effect is stunning. I agree with Jim, if you can achieve a special effect with a camera, its so much better than post production. Congratulations.

and a fantastic blur it is. It is fun to play around not using PS too isn't it. I am doing that with shutter speeds and aperture, taking the same pic over and over to see what kind of results I can achieve. You have still maintained the beauty of the flower with the glowing leaves radiating out and beyond. Wonderful work Rebecca. (btw Jim's 'taken with his cap' on pic is cool too)

I meant I love YOUR pic posted...not my sample...I should have made it more clear. Re-read with the thought of me liking your pic...I love the way people play and adjust with their camera...and that is what I liked about your post...the mental gymnastics...or is that Jim-nastics?

Now THAT is camera clever! I know that PS and such makes the world of the photographer much easier to live in, but for me...not for everyone....the clever use of the camera means so much more. I am getting ready to post something that I think is very original...and your camera playing and experimenting tells me you deserve a sneak peek. Here is a totally new perspective from Jimmie. The world, not through my camera...but through my eyes...I love this pic, Becc....I love the toying and trying and thinking perspective of camera multi-functionalism..
