Hi Jim Thank you very much for your comment. I have 2 reasons for not using a flash. My first impulse was to take it as a silhouette, but it turned out like this. A flash wouldn't work, because I was only 3cm from the object and in addition the fine web and the light through the legs wouldn't be there! It would be a spider hanging in the air. So I think this was the best possible way. Thanks Regards
I'm a bit torn on this one. I like the capture of the sunlight through the spiders legs, but I don't like that the body is so dark. Use of a fill flash would provide the needed detail to the body of the spider, but it might wash out the translucent nature of the legs. Tough call. I would have tried one of each. Very neat image.
