Thanks Ellen. I wish I knew what kind of flower this is. I'm not too good at that part of it all. Just colors and shapes I suppose. These flowers were captured at the Huntington Gardens in Pasadena, which is an amazing place to shoot plants and stuff. Cheers.

Sorry to scare you Thilo. I'm drawn to the idea of putting "veils" between the camera and the subject. They partially obscure, and thereby add mystery, to the more focused subject. Cheers.

Dear Erik,
aah, I see. I couldn't comment on that picture today. Hope to get my thoughts back online ;-)
first of all: great contrast. the background is well done and contrasts nicely to the strong colors of the flowers. the different levels of depth are also nice. I'm just wondering why you opt for focussing on the flowers in the back. That's a bit scary for me. but interesting for sure.
