About I have visited this falls numerous times and have never witnessed the falls quite like this before. There was absolutly no trees debris before the falls. I normally shoot with a film camera, but on this day, I had a Sony F828 digi cam and a Vivitar 285 flash. I metered for the background, recomposed, and used the flash to bring out the shadow areas of the falls. This camera performed way beyond my expectations!

Spot metered the background, Hit the exposure lock, and flashed the foreground. It took a few exposures to get right, but it did come into play. Thanks for the comment.

You cannot edit something like this, if you set to apeture of say f22, then you can slow the shutter down. You need aq slow shutter speed to silken the water. Water starts to really silken at 1/15 of a second. After about 2 seconds, the water starts to lose definition. You just have to experiment, and do not forget to use a solid tripod. Thanks for the comment and enjoy shooting!!

i Just have a question, its there a particular setting for the water to look like this?
Or was this edited in some program?
Besides that, I love it.
I love Sony Cams as well.

Thanks for all the comments. I am still a bit skeptical of digital, but the more I shoot it, the more comfortable I am with it. Does it really matter what you shoot with as long as you get out and do it?

Nice work. I prefer it wil some of the foreground cropped out. Great exposure.

A nice location and well captured, and Paul, I've heard that the Minolta A2 will put this Sony model to shame!!! The fixed lens, advanced pointNshoots are truly cranking it up several notches. I have a Sony Mavica CD500, and the sharpness and manual controls were impressive, and I'm sure the 828 exceeds it fully. But now I'm glad to be back to an SLR, and still shooting digital.
