First off, love the explanation of the tree and the smell detail and all. Very informative and well done. But I have to say, this did make me wonder if maybe this tree's distant cousin was living in the states. Jim http://www.usefilm.com/image/403510.html

Thanks Dale Ann. They are the scraggiest looking trees but ruggedly beautiful and when their bark sheds the trunk is so smooth and nicely coloured. Our country's main tree is the the Gum (Eucalypt is their proper name - where eucalyptus oil comes from)and they have a slightly blue tinge to the leaves (not a yellowy green foliage at all). They also have a distinct odour of eucalypt - which is the smell of Australia!! Whenever I go OS and come back to australia - I drink in that smell of our bush (especially if it has rained). Just love it!!

Beautiful image Amanda! I don't think I've ever seen a gum tree! I love how you framed this, and the shape of the tree is gorgeous!
