About Devils Tower located in eastern Wyoming. A very interesting part of our country. Lots of neat small towns around this feature to visit as well.
it is unbeleivable once you get there to look up at it. Where did it come from ? Why there ? Why not more of them ? enquiring minds want to know.
Just got the van back from the shop with a clean bill of health. 2 weeks and 2 days but who is counting ?

One of my favorite places in the world, but I haven't been there since I started taking photography more seriously.

You've done a marvelous job with this one.

Beautiful Jim.... So well composed. I have seen this from the interstate but have never been close. Looks like a great place to visit. I think you are counting the days aren't you.. Just wait when every day is a vacation and you don't know what to do next. Don.

Hi Jim, this is a different view of this great piece of rock. As far as I know it was the old core of a volcano composed of Basalt which give it the ridged formation in the rock. I always wanted to climb this one .... but hey, maybe in another life...will it still be here when we come back?

Jim!! I was there as well!! You know - your images are bringing back a LOT of good memories! I can remember how tired I was by then, having had this whirlwind tour of your country ... but I was never left un-moved by the sheer size and beauty of everything. This "tower" specifically left me in total awe at the size. Did you walk around the base of it?
Thanks for sharing this with us (me) :-)

Such a great caption of this very well know rock face. I would love to climb that one day. Also love the saturated colors and the trees infront of the tower, as my eyes jumps from one tree to another until I get to the rock face. Keep up the good work.
