About A view down Stuart Street Dunedin. The land across the harbour is the Otago peninsula. up the harbour to the left lies Port Chalmers. It was from there that Robert Falcon Scott and his men left for the ill-fated voyage to the Antarctic

Hi Scott, thanks for the comment. That's quite a tale about your trip over the Kilmog. It's still a bad road in the Winter. I see from your portfolio you are now in Europe. Are you travelling or living there? It's amazing how many ex Dunedinites living ovrseas frequent the pages of Usefilm. Cheers John

This pic bought back memories. I used to go to Otago Uni, one winter I Hitchhiked home to Palmerston North (not Palmerson just up the rode) on a day just like this. We got half way up the Kilmog (spelling) the driver turned to talk to me and we crashed into a pole. Some how the car was written off (although we were only doing about 20km/h)and I fell out the passenger door with a broken nose, I wasn?t wearing a seat belt but I still don?t know if I broke it on the dashboard or the road side. Thanks for the memory ;) circa 1991

Lovely, nearly black and white picture which reveals in the big format surprising but subtle color spots and nuances. Captivating shot. best regards Jorg

Good shot John, my eyes are perfect directed.
I can almost feel the wet cold!
Of course I know it's the other way around, but stil strange to see this very real picture in our summertime.
Will take one for you, if we get some snow this year.

What a great view John. The perspective you have caught really draws me in. I love how the snow really creates more drama by increasing the contrast and texture.
Good image!

Cheers,Tim
