PS: The shark was a happy stroke of luck. We were passing by the movie house on 34th Street that's showing the feature cartoon "Sharks."

Amen. The best chant used by the protestors was, "This is what democracy looks like." The cops, at least those policing the event, were professional, un-threatening, and did a great job. Ditto for the marshals and organizers of the march.
I'll be posting more of the same this week, all from Sunday's protest. Back to work for me today.
Many thanks to all for the kind words.

The presence of the shark's mouth at the bottom adds a comical touch. Is that a caricature of Bush?

Hi Leslie,
This series of your photos from today's protest march is very good photography and very good journalism. This is one case where I wish the 3-photos-a-day rule could be lifted for you - I would love to see all of your images from today.
All in all, I'd say this was a great day to be an American. I strongly disagree with my fellow Americans who marched to protest today, but they kept their word and did it peacefully. They certainly got their message across, loud and clear, as was their right. NYC and its police force also did itself proud today, keeping its cool as usual.
Best regards, SteveR
