Hi Jorg, An interesting composition. Although I'm not sure it works for me completely. the focus of the building is so far off to the side that it is not inviting me in to the degree that a more successful composition might. Yes I know that Mt, Baker is off in the background but again it is so far off on the other side of the photo that my eye does slide there eventually. I think that some of the problem is that the line of trees in the middle does not have enough detail or some point of interest to really draw my attention in to your image more satisfyingly. On the other hand my sense of composition may be to conventional and this photo works very well for other observers. Great experiment, I'll be interested in seeing what others have to say. I See that you are coming up this way in Oct. Unfortunately Jennifer and I are in the process of moving to a island at the end of this month and will likely have our hands full till mid Oct. It would be fun to meet though at another time!
I really like this image, the deep blue, faint details in the rocks, slight reflection...contrasting with the warmth of the houses and lights is just AWESOME!!
What a good eye you have to have composed this wonderful scene! Very nice, Lori :)
