This picture has a very warm feeling. Just hang out with a drink in the summer evening. Just nostalgic. Here in Germany the winter is approaching fast, yesterday was the first morning with below 0 C.
Great shot.

Hi Ian, Awesome tones. Can imagine you are pleased with this result. The fluorecant tones are excellent, and take this shot out of the ordinary. Well composed. I did consider opting for a crop on the right side, but I don't think it would improve anything. The wide view of the ocean is essential for the tension and atmosphere. Very well captured.

Cheers,

Hugo

I love it when just testing out new equipment and we are hit w/ great captures such as this. I have found that 1/2 second and longer exposures really add to a developed sense of mood and style that is hard to duplicate outside of moving ocean tides and long shutter speeds before and after sunset/sunrise. Good luck in furthering this developing style-

Thanks again for your comments, Wynnum is only
15min from where I live, and on this occasion went
there just to test my new filters, was not concerned with composition just how these filters
work,I was not expecting this shot to jump out at
me, next week I will drive up to the Sunshine
Coast (1hr) and see what develops, I am starting to like these long exposure experiments.

You should be pleased w/ these results Ian...great night shot, I like the combination of natural and manmade objects/lighting. Nicely done, the only thing I can see to improve is to not have the horizon quite so centered.

In answer to your question, the filter does
not make it sharper, the lens on the camera
does.

In photoshop elements 2, I adjusted the levels,
contrast/brightness, and added a touch of saturation, resized and ran it through 'NoiseNinja'
thats it.

Thank you all for your interest, but it is me
who should be thanking the great landscape photographers on this site who shared their techniques.

All I did here was set my tripod up, attached
the Cokin filter holder, set the aperture to f8
and proceeded to take many exposures using different shutter speeds and my 3 GND filters.

When I got home nobody was more shocked than I when I saw the results on my moniter, and verified
to me what the experts say, "...if you want to do
landscapes, graduated neutral density filters are
a must as well as a polarising filter"

I learnt more about photography tonight than ever before.

Thanks again for your support I really appreciate it.

Cheers
Ian

Beautifull. The sharpness, is that the filter?, and the color reflections in the wather from the light. It's a very complete picture, you have all the right to be véry pleased!
Greets Tim.

Hi, I think it's a great night shot with so cool colors and a great location.

If it doesn't bore u I have made a self-interpretation of ur work, just because I like it so much:)
I have revisited the cut and levels, and passed with neat-image for remove some noise.
Do u want to see it?
