Good capture, I know the feeling - I have a similar capture of I believe the same bee and I struggled to bring the blue sheen out of it.
However, the temperature at the time on the Greek island we were visiting was a staggering 44 degrees and I was struggling just a little lol

excellent shot my friend ,beautiful macro regarding your question I would suggest under exp. between -1.5 till -2 and also you can try shooting in spot exp.I had a similiar problem with my side by side I under expose it -2 you can see the results Many thanks for your kind remark on "Eerie night" Best regards my friend
