About Tempio di Apollo is on the Averno Lake near my home; it is a roman ruine and I am always fascinated watching inside it (here with my 18 focal lenght) trying to imagine as it was when new. Dante, the famous italian writer of Divina Commedia put the Averno Lake as the gate for the hell as it was known that birds flying upon the waters soon died. Actually the lake is volcanic in origin and in the ancient time it is thought to be some dangerous gas there. Now it is a safe place though!

I am satisfied with this lens Thilo it is worth the money it costs (that are not so much); I preferred it to the kit lens in the D70 buying just the body of the camera and adding the lens to my taste; all the shots with D70 (almost ten in my portfolio, the last ones you see) are made with it; it seems to me sharp enough, may be some vignetting is visible and it is not a fast lens, but I have the prime AF 50 mm Nikkor 1.8 which satisfy me for this, and now I am awaiting the AF 70-210

Dear Antonio,

I like the geometry part a lot here. nice contrast against the sky.
I would like to know if you are satisfied with the 18-50mm Sigma lens. I'm looking for a wide angle lens for the D70 at the moment =)
Take care,
Thilo

Very nice. The short focal length is a beautiful choice for this scene. Well Done!
