Best of luck with it - one good advantage to come from the digital revolution for you is the fact that film cameras of all formats are cheap now on the secondhand market. If you get this week's British Journal of Photography there is a great article on the state of the industry and some tips on where to buy.
Good luck with the studies - I will keep an eye out for your work.

Yes, thank you. I am currently in my first year of a bachelor of photography course (1st year - small format B&W) and I don't have a particular likeing for digital at this point in time. I understand your intentions now.
Thanks for clarifying. I can't wait to start medium and large format next year!

Hi Justin,
Before I set out on this project I knew excactly what I wanted. High DOF and light streaks. TO achieve this I had to braket wildly - I used 4 rolls of film, all E6 and I processed it through C41 - this enhanced the colour and made them look rich. 10 secs is not at all too long - in fact that is just an estimate for this particular frame. With film you can expose for as long as you want without no ill effects (if the light is suitable) - however if this shot was taken with a digital camera it would have broken down and become "noisy". I hope this answers your question.
Rgds, Shane

Hi, I haven't touched on medium format as yet, but just wondering whether 10s @ f/2.8 is normal. I can't imagine it would be.
The lighting effects are stunning.
I would comment a lot more, but I am completely unfamilliar with medium format photography.
