man, you've been busy! i go away for a week only to find you've been uploading tons of stuff ;^) this one is excellent all the way around. it demonstarates what i meant in my last comment to you (on your subsequent post).

i really dig this composition. it's very well bound with the subject(s) and title. you show me a dune that looks uncannily like a perfect wave. i can even see the tube beginning to form as the wave breaks on the left side. this feeling is exaggerated by the two people getting ready to surf it. one of them appears to be in the process of dropping in. you can't paddle on sand, so you run instead. very cool concept, well captured and well titled. one of my favorites! i'm sorry i don't have enough expletives to praise this photo. perfect!

take care,
tom

Thanks - this is an example of that gradient masking (Ramp) that I told you about - only in this one I put the gradient on the sky to darken it up, and on the ground to bring out the contrast in the sand.

The whole image got a saturation boost because my digital does not bring out the colors like film.

Wow! Impressive! Like this so much: very well composed and toning is simply gorgerous!

Truly stunning. The sense of movement of the sand and the grain, are beautiful. Great work.
