I love this shot - very emotional. As a huge cemetary fan, I find the troubling skyline, the church and the grave markers well put together. Very nice comp.

Thanks for the tip amanda and I'll have to look into the film. I'm actually quite interested in trying out Agfa as a lot of the excellent black and white captures I see, a lot of photographers use it. Mainly its been fuji Neopan acros and more recently I just purchased some Ilford Delta :)

Scenery photograph of deep toning. The contrast the control is superior.
My #13 photograph the afternoon when the light is insufficient rainy day interior light.

I'll give you a tip - its called Kodak Portra bw c41 process!! It has the same forgiveness and lattitude (virtually) as colour film and the grain of a ISO100!! Most people dont want the grain!! The film is lovely and it can be processed on bw papers for true bw. I'll check your website out later (taking Chloe to taekwondo in a minny) - mine is www.amandasphotos.com - don't have any wedding stuff posted though as I dont usually do it. Cheers - goodnight, must be late there, its 8.30am here!

Fantastic news with the wedding :) I've only photographed two weddings and in general they were all digital apart from when I knew I could control the white. Do you have a website? If you get time I'd appreciate your views on mine?

let me know as I'd like to see how the wedding shots come out.. I wouldnt be brave enough to shoot a b&w wedding LOL.

Thanks Howie - my guys are all good! I like the convenience of digital but you just can't beat true bw can you!! You are spot on with the exposure tolerance - it is much more with film and even more so with colour film. If the situation is contrasty I'll be pulling my film body out - without a doubt, that way I retain the highlights and dont get noise and artefacts in the shadows. I'm doing a white and black themed wedding in Feb - I will only be using digital for the group shot.....safer with film.

Thanks Amanda :) Its amazing with film how many people do mention to the tones. I think from shooting digital and film the biggest difference with black and white are either in the shadows or highlights. Digital seems to cope well with one or the other as film copes with both. As you know, I've been 99% digital and only last 6 months shot film. Colour portraits I prefer digital but for black and white I'm now a converted film man LOL.

Thanks again Amanda. Hope all is well with you and yours :)

This is divine - the light is spectactular, as is the sky. What a place - makes me think of Harry Potter :-) Makes me laugh how as soon as you start using bw film you get tons of comments on the 'lovely tones' - see it is better ;-) I'll get retorts that comment - just you see!! Beautiful work my friend - perhaps crop out the lampost in the background.

Thanks Dina for the comment. Its funny, if I shoot digital and then convert to B&W I sometimes tone but when I shoot black and white film, I rarely do LOL Go figure huh :)
