Is the polarizer what gives the greens so much vibrant colour? Whenever I do these types of shots in the forest I always end up with a blue cast (probably from the shade). I've tried a polarizing filter and it works sometimes, but never as vivid as your colour here.
Perhaps it has something to do with the Digital white balance?

As for the composition of the shot... I feel like I would like to see a little more of the stream at the bottom... it feels squished down there, while there is soo much room given to the upper portion of green.
But of course, I love the soft water!

Lovely nature shot, the green s just a bit too saturated for me as well, looks a very peaceful place and could be taken here in New Zealand, looks like our bush scenes:)
Thanks for your kind comment on my helebore.
Regards micky.

Gerry,
First let me thank you for your kind words on my water fall "Bridal Veil".
I disagree with the first post, I think the abundance of green moss makes this photograph more interesting. It says isloation to me. You just don't find that many locations like this, at least here in norteastern US.
Great job, and great portfolio.
Regards,
Rob

Hi Gerhard, nicely done. The saturated greens and soft white from the water works well,

Chris

Dear Hugo,

thank you so much for your feedback. I converted the RAW with capture one and I used PS only for cropping and framing. After I completed this step I had to convert the picture from a 16bit (adobe 98) to a 8bit web color space. I think this color space change caused this problem. However ... I have to look for an appropriate publishing process.

Many thanks,

Gerry

Hi Gerhard, Very well composed shot. The velvet feel of the running water adds a good element of drama, and I like the setup. I feel a bit ambiguous about the almost poisenous green tones, especially of the moss on the fallen tree. It creates a contradiction between the softness of the water, which removes the atmosphere a bit. Thanks for the technical info, though. With a small level tweak, slightly desaturating the greens, I think this would be a winner.

Cheers,

Hugo
