About This image was taken in early Sept. 04 from my front yard. Northwestern Ohio is not the most photogenic place to live but I think this shot demonstrates that beauty can be found everywhere if we're willing to look for it. Exposure time was 6 seconds.

Kurt, you certainly don't need to explain that to me as I never saw anything in your comments other than a love of beauty in art. Others might have seen otherwise but that is through their own ignorance. I, too, am happily married and have no intention of jeapordising that.

I am passionate about my work and sometimes that does show through, that I cannot help. But I do understand how some people think, so I was reluctant to publicly state the dedication in fear of provoking unnecessary and false accusations from other viewers.

I hope I have made myself clear to anyone that reads this. I have many friends on this site and feel that I treat everyone the same. With light hearted fun, I feel a persons day can go a heck of a lot smoother.

Your friend,

Judi

Thanks for the note and the dedication, Judi. Yes, my message on "Paradise of the South" was rather powerful, perhaps too much so. That, combined with your follow-up "Afterglow" and its potential connotations, along with some of your other images and comments I've made on them could certainly be misconstrued.
I would much rather risk sounding foolish than risk misleading anyone so let me clear up any ambiguity right now. I am very happily married to a wonderful woman whom I hope and expect to share the rest of my life with (provided she'll put up with me that long). In fact, the photos of Florida that I've uploaded were from our delayed 'honeymoon' as we've been married for two years now and didn't get the chance to take a real one earlier. : ) I am not looking for any sort of inappropriate relationship with you or anyone else.
The comments I've made, or may make in the future, are inspired by a love of beauty and artistic endeavor, not a romantic fishing expidition.
OK, if I didn't need to say that for your sake, I needed to say it for mine. I value your comments and I am learning from you as well as others on UF. Kurt

Kurt, you left a powerful message on my Paradise of the South image and I replied to you that I would be uploading an image that would be a follow on from your comment. I have now uploaded it and I wanted to dedicate it to you, but I felt with the titles of the two images combined with your comment that people might get the wrong idea.

So I just wanted you to know that 'Afterglow' is for you.

Thankyou for being my friend.

Judi

Judi: as always, it means a lot to me when you take the time to do makeovers like this. I do like the extra saturation and intensity of your version - makes it look like I shot it on Velvia 50! Thanks. Kurt

Kurt, I agree you are lucky to be living there. It is a beautiful sunrise. I have adjusted the levels slightly and attached it for you. I could have taken it a lot further but I wanted to keep it as natural as possible.

Thanks, Neal. Nothing like being in the right place at the right time with a camera. It's even more convenient when the 'right' place is just outside your front door! Kurt

A beautiful picture of the best time of day. Perfectly exposed to show the subtle gradiations in the landscape. And precisely the right moment before the sun got too bright. Great work.
