Glad to hear from you again Kim,I'll take a look at your portfolio again, later. What you see is a snake skin which I found in August while out walking in the Torcal mountains-lots of snakes there but I've never seen one!Regards,Tony.

Is this a shedded animal skin? The way it camoflauges into the background it really cool, even though at the same time it creeps me out! I love how this is framed to put all the emphasis on the "skin" and the "face" I'm glad I looked up your portfolio again!

Thank you for your comment Mark,I'm glad you liked the shot.As you said the detail is very sharp(0.7 and stopped down to f/27-on a tripod)but I didn't use a diffuser as such. All my still lifes I do on a table up on my terraza,it's covered by a plastic material so the light I get is pretty diffuse.Summer-time I do nothing up there as the temperature goes way up over 40,now it's cooler and I'm having fun.

This is a beautiful macro shot. Great lighting, wonderful colors and tone and very sharp detail. Did you use a diffuser? That's a great lens you have. Beautiful picture. Congrats! Mark
