Thanks Dale Ann, if you use your telephoto end of your zoom at f2.8 then you'll get the same sort of result with your dof.

I recognized that face! She's so pretty, just like her sis! Love the dof, again. I wish I could accomplish that with my camera. I guess I need a lesson! Great colors too! Really shows her vibrant beauty!

Thanks Jose for commenting. If you are thinking of getting the ist D then I will highly recommend it. I love the camera!! Yes all my lenses work on - even the manual K lenses but hte metering is funny. This isn't too much of a drama as you can see on the lcd screen if the shot is correctly exposed and it is a matter of compensating for it. Usually I tend to have an idea of which aperture/shutter combination range a shot is in so it isn't too hard. I believe you can push a button or something to partially meter but I haven't got to that yet. It is a fabulous camera but I find that it is difficult ot get a good flash shot - working on that at the moment as I have only had this camera for about 3 months now.
