About ?In limbo? is a state of non-movement. Image inspired by Dante?s Divine Comedy. No PP.

This is how the story goes?Dante and Virgil descend into the first circle of hell: Limbo. An abysmal valley, a place of sorrow without torment. There the unbaptised children and those who lived before Christ reside. These souls are virtuous but have no hope, yet they live in longing. They are unfit to enter the kingdom of Heaven, or see God, nevertheless they have no sins. This is the circle that Virgil resides in. Dante and Virgil meet some of the great poets of antiquity such as Homer, Horace, Lucian, Ovid? Dante is partial to this place by the fact that a ?hemisphere of Light? encompasses him. Light represents reason?

Again, this is my depiction of Limbo?something that looks like a letter (symbolically someone?s words) lays in the white parts of one?s travel into darkness, the darkness of 21st century reality?? My mind becomes obscure sometimes?but still I need to share my thoughts combined conceptually with photos? My writings are ?messages in bottles? as a dear friend here says... I send a ?bottle? when I find a ?bottle? with someone else?s words or images. I have always believed that someone?s works can be the ?note? found in another?s Limbo? and this is sharing all about?Light in darkness? I get inspired by many people?s images in here?A big ?Thank You??

Here you can see Gustave Dore?s, world famous 19th century illustrator, the illustrations to The Divine Comedy http://www.artpassions.net/dore/dore.html

Ah, yes, Mary. The sense of motion is there. Where my image fits under the heading "striding" your image is more like "shuffling". Limbo indeed.

In limbo as it clings unto the lighted path, on the edge of entering the darkness-a fear sweeps over, not wanting to be lost forever...

Hello Mary - you certainly have some interesting thoughts going here. Titled or not, this image is strong enough to let the viewer follow his own path with out letting him down.

I send one when i find one...
thanx Ruta, your conceptual tendency makes me happy looking at your photos ... and concerning images of me I have to say that each friend of mine has his own visual interpretation of me... I am much more simple as a person... have a look: http://www.usefilm.com/image/579528.html

I like always to read your "about". Many interesting thoughts I find there.
Have seen the works of Gustave Doré. Really interesting!
I think your photo is perfect interpretation of "limbo". That blury effect works perfectly there.
And... thank you for the messages in the bottle, I?m always happy to find one.
