I heard about it Neil - yes and I remembered you lived at Newbury. Very sad.
I couldnt get much further away from the fountains and still have the lovely red leaves in the picture I dont think. the red leaves are on the way out. Lets see when I next walk by I will see. Iti s interesting to experiment

Gabrielle,
Not quite, but always interesting to take another view or composition at the same location as an earlier shot.
I think that to achieve what I had in mind may be too much of a challengeas it would need you to be much further back from your orginal standpoint. The reason for this is that you need to have a high level of telephot magnification to focus with a small DOF only on the waterfalls. But to do that and keep the same amount of red foliage you would need to stand back a considerable distance.
Did that make sense?
As to Bonfire Night - I didn't take any photos, in part because it's very difficult with my digital camera which only has a 2sec max exposure and we were all watching and listening about the Major train disaster last night which happened just a few miles away from Newbury. I travel the line frequently (was on it on Friday coming back from London). My sympathies are with the relatives of the deceased and seriously injured.
Sorry for the ramble.
Neil

Note the grey skies as well - unlike today where the skies are perfect "carolina" blue. Whenever it is rainy and dull my boss always says - this must make you feel at home. I said if I wanted to feel that way I wouldnt have crossed the ocean. I did miss Bonfire Night though- someone should have some photos to share of that!

That is a very attractive park. I like the colours of the leaves.
I would have been tempted to try one focussed on the waterfall with a smaller DOF and see what that looked like as well.

Lovely place. Framing with this beautiful fall foliage was perfect. Nice shot.
