Um mestre do retrato! O modelo tem um rosto fantástico, bem talhado, fotogénico, a permitr um excelente trabalho... mas o mérito é teu, Patrick, porque és um artista fantástico.
Grande abraço!

The portrait is perfect and great focus on the eyes, but I dont like the high-contrast on the nose, cause you have lost some details dear Patrick. I bet it is an excellent portrait without those effects. but as you said it is an experiment, so go for it!

Hi Thilo and thanks for your comment! =) Its an experiment and i did it most for fun! Most of the high key/contrast comes from PhotoShop.

Thanks and take care! =)

Hi Patrick,

nice experiment with flash light here. the high-key is different, gives the portrait a very focussed look. I experimented with rear-curtain sync, and the results were interesting as well.

nothing I would hang on my wall, but great to see that you're pushing the borders again.
take care my friend,
Thilo

Nice version.. Its ok to do that.. np.. =) Makes it a completely different composition!

Hi Patrick, to be frank, I think the high key in combination with the very close composition is a bit too much. A personal thing; taste is obviously a subjective matter.....

Looking more closely, I think I miss the details and textures in his hair the most; the washed out face also is a bit flat, but that's not too bad, as his beard makes up for that. The high key might work, but I think it just needs a tad more details....

Cheers,

Hugo

Excellent work as always my friend but I allow of to abuse of your trust and to play a little with the effects to see how it saw : D, Lucky than we live very far and you cant shoot me from there, you don't have intercontinental missiles not???, hahahaha

Patrick... Either version... very nice. Biggest item is the eyes...the "windows to the soul"! Very expressive! Both crops are nicely done because of the framing.
Very nice work!

Thank you Mary! =) I directed the flash away from him.. so it wouldnt destroy it all! Infact i used a candlelight to get that "touch" in his eyes! =)

Im glad you liked it!

definitely a strong image, powerful portrait! I love it, especially his eyes give a very intense feeling. Usually I do not use flash as it makes the images flat destroying the tones, this one looks fine despite the flash because of the high contast!

I like the unusual look, high key contrast is complimented the portrait, apart from small thing that, the top left corner is as of something missing, if it is natural, then a PS is the correct Barber :) Saeed

High-key works perfectly there. Makes to outstand more his beautifull eyes. The expression is some way intriguing. I like this portrait, really.
