light control is pretty good here Terry and the use of directional works...her right arm should have been placed on the other side of the leg or on the leg and the hand than would have gotten light and looked more natural, the fall off on the feet is evident; not a detriment but there...

Thanks for the kind words and criticism David.
I shot this photo in the lighting studio at my college.
It was the first time I have shot in it for about 4 months, and over the summer I guess someone switched the wattage of the lights. I had a fill light putting out 1500 watts of power, and my softbox, which I planned on being my mainlight, at 500. On portraits such as this I always shoot 1:2 or 1:3 fill and I wa sno where near that ratio )
I ended up with really crisp, bright slides, but when I scanned them I lost almost all of the quality. I had to scan them with a scanner attachment on a flatbed..Yuck
About the arm, I wanted an impatient look for the pic, so everything else I did with the arm looked awkward.
There are no windows in our studio )
Hope this helps.. T

Very good people shot. I would have asked her to work with the right arm a bit, try to avoid just hanging it. Pose does not look entirely comfortable. Shadow off to the right on the floor is a little distracting. Overall quality of light is very fine. Looks like window light to me, but is it?
