This is a closeup of the ornate detail on the dome and the minaret, and they are amazing works of architecture. Then you also take the time to explain the picture in the About. Thank you for showing Egypt, it is very interesting. And the photos are awesome. Good work, Khaled.

Hi Samer, Thanx for your comments, I really appreciate them. No nead for appology, I'm glad to have UF friends like you and Saeed Al Shamsi. I just want to tell you that I'm an amateur photographer not a professional one, and even as as an amateur photographer, I really don't have time to practice it. I registered in UF to learn from the comments and to view the photos of other photographers, I'm still learning photography. I think one of the great advantage of UF is not only to participate with artistic photos to get awards, but also is the sharing of photos between different cultures. We should have a role in making other people of different countries to know our culture, how do other people in other countries live, point on the bad things in our daily lives (as we are used to point on the good things and beautiful sceneries, e.g., flowers, nice landscapes or cityscapes, etc...), and to have a message in our photos (even if I should make it clear in the about) which highlights something that we could forget or don't know. Sorry for this long reply but I just wanted you to know the excuse for finding my photos below average. My best regards to you and to Saeed Al Shamsi, Khaled.

Well Saeed I?ve read your comments then read mine to Khaled again, And honestly I felt it was really a strong word (horrible) and the whole comment was tuff. Anyway sometimes we lost the words to express in a decent way. I own you an apology for my way Khaled.Didn?t mean to be rude neither offensive. Sorry?.

The b&w conversion is more dramatic, than the colored version. The details are emphasized more. So, right choice! I am not sure about the bright background though, it is sort of strong. 0_o Perhaps a paler hue? :S Overall, great work!

I like this as artistic image view, when it comes to photography I do appreciate a way from classic shots. I wont to mention one thing here we upload our works here to exchange knowledge and get benefit from each other, professional, semi-professional or amateurs. some time we do agree and disagree or like and dislike, In my carrier never heard of a critique world " horrible" unless who is saying it, has nothing to do with art photography nor got a knowledge of criticism. They are two way of judging the photo or the photographer, if you know the rules and the background of photography, then you have to chose either to criticize or to comment (which is more friendly way of compliment) showing the weakness and the way to improve, in respect and polite manner...The last part of my comment is a reply to one of the above comment, regards Saeed

Khaled, I have to say I like the colour version! I'm not sure if you tried experimenting with a polarising filter, but it can make the sky bluer, increase contrast, and also cut down the effect of smog (always a problem in Cairo). I really get a lot of use out of my polariser. Regards, omar

Hi Holmes, Thanx for your nice comments. This is the original colored version of the capture. Just a little contrast adjustment with PS and writing my name on it, other than that nothing was done. I hope you like it. Looking forward to sharing more photos with you on UF. Best regards, Khaled.

The crop is horrible for me; you have to include this on a press talking about el Rifai mosque but not for critique, For me nothing new in it. Don?t like it, I prefer the dome itself or the minaret only.

A very nice composition! Whenever I am in Egypt, I like to go to the Rifai and especially the Sultan Hassan next door. I hope to make a trip to Cairo around Chritmas. Maybe we can meet and shoot together?
I'm always a little picky, but maybe a little overexposed in the highlights.
Best regards, my friend Omar
