About This little guy must have had raybeams out as I had a lot of trouble trying to focus in on him. So please excuse the detail loss. He came to visit me last night and so I encouraged him to stick around for some photos. I have attached another image below so you can see the size of him. The powdery detail on the hand is from him.

BTW, it's a MOTH.

Maybe this is the result of drinking warm beer....we have cold beer and small moths.

Judi Liosatos Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 11/11/2004
What are we putting in the beer? A lot of alcohol...lol!! Maybe that's the key. I mean the mens bellies grow extra large so why not a Moth too!!!! LOL!!

Glad you enjoyed it.

We do get a lot of large moths, but you don't see them on a daily basis.

Actually Margaret, today this guy went to school and got poked and prodded by a class full of children. He has now being released. He just seemed to not want to leave. Hopefully he has found his home now though.

Thankyou for your wonderful comments.

Light very good, nice composition, great idea.
The blue light in the center of the glass is a little cold but the shoting condition don't allowed to do anything, I think. Congratulation Alessandro.

Judi Liosatos Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 11/10/2004
No Dave, he actually came in to chat to the cat. And hasn't left yet. I think he likes stirring the cat up. The cat beats up the dogs if they don't play with her, and yet she is unhappy around this moth....go figure!

These things are grotesque when you stare them straight in the eye aren't they Judi. You've done a marvellous job of capturing this one. I can just imagine it on an advertising poster for some scary film. Great shot.

Judi Liosatos Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 11/10/2004
Magnus, I am happy that somebody thought the same as me. It scared the heck out of me at first, as I was going in to shut the light out and that was the last thing I expected to see. Picking it up was difficult, but I have to admit, it is very gentle. It only flapped its wings around once and after that was fairly quiet.

Thankyou Biliana dear. This was more of a fun shot than anything. I couldn't resist having a go at photographing him. Mind you, he did scare the heck out of me when I saw him walking across the kitchen floor. Our cat was a little concerned as it was heading straight for her.

Exsalent photo and I love the detal that you got. But I have to ask, WHAT THE ******* HELL IS IT?

  0

Judi Liosatos Judi Liosatos   {K:34047} 11/10/2004
Thanks Saeed. I tried photographing him on a few things but he just kept hiding his face. So I figured if I put him on the edge of a glass I will be able to capture his face as well as his underside. It seemed to work, not as well as I would have liked but oh well.
