Del, I'm way behind with comments and trying to catch up but this is one image that I've viewed and it's stuck with me. You've captured quite a phenomena here. It's like wallpaper peeling in a dilapidated house. How does the tree do this? I always thought it was the layer immediately under the bark that carried the food from the roots to all parts. Fabulous image.

I think some wacko from that wild and crazy neighbourhood you live in, Del, got their hatchet and went a little crazy upside this poor tree. Super detail and colour, nice and crisp.
