About I know this isn' the best capture but its a crop from a pic taken at about 600x. The reason i'm posting it more than anything is that this is the same fellow from "bad mood" - his name's tyson and this is him on the way out : basically he did a runner and they weren't able to catch him - i thought it was hilarious!! I don't know whether he returned another day or not but thought you would appreciate his great escape!

Wow...I think the quality is great.
I have shot a few eagles and I always get only sky for the background....I like this background with the eagle much.
Well done.

Great capture Stu, it is always funny when that happens - after all, they are meant to be wild birds lol

A lot of bird handlers fit them with transmitters just in case this happens and go chasing them around the country - may be a bit awkward in Gib ?

Lovely photo though :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

Hey gary,
thanks for the comment! The lens is great - realy fast and clear! Here i used it with a tamron 2x converter which does slow the autofocus slight but otherwise works really well. According to the nikon instructions the lens becomes a 300 on my d70 ( and i compared it to a sony at 200mm and the difference is noticeable)which i why i meantioned 600mm so i have to use a monpod to keep it clear! but i would recommend it to anyone!

This is a beautiful shot, SD! For a crop it's still sharp as a tack, with wonderful detail.

Great shot and you really did a good job as it looks very sharp. The DOF and colors are just perfect and natural. Keep up the good work.
p.s. I too am wondering about that picture. I think it's stupid as it has nothhing to do with the picture.

It is a marvellous capture Stu. The wing detail, the light on the fantail, the intense expression of his face all join together to make this a fantastic image. Eagles are my favourite bird so maybe I'm biased but what the heck. Well done.

To love someone is to let them go...

If they come back, they are yours....

If they don't, they never were.....
