About This is the original, color version of another picture in my portfolio titled ?[variations]?.
I like them both.
I think that the light in this version is more subtle. What do you think?
I know that there should be more space at the bottom and at the right but I had to cut it due to unwanted vinetting.
Shot was taken early in the morning at the top of the sand dune. DOF was considered.
All comments are highly appreciated.
Full frame. Nothing but the cropping in PS.
Regards
Lukasz

I like the strong and saturated colours, as well as the good use of selective focusing, Lukasz.

If anything, perhaps the focus is a little too much on the shallow side.

It would have been perfect with that extra room you mentioned.

First off I like the golden grass very much, great detail and lighting.
The composition with the angled bg makes this image stand out with a identity of it's own.
One could learn much by studying your compositions.
Well done.

Wonderful, Lukacz, you capture a very special moment and a very special light. By concentrating on such a simple view with so few elements you create a sense of authenticy here. The colour contrast between the yellow/orange grass and the complementary blue sky together with the nearly neutral colour of the sand makes an intriguing abstract composition, too mixing calm and tension. Best regards Jorg

Incredible deep blue - nice diagonal line and simplicity. The yellow light adds warmth in a good way. Great composition.

Hi Lukasz, I do agree that the light in this version is more subtle. Probably as the tones in the grass are warmer than the cool hue of the sand; it adds a good contrast, that gets lost in the B&W version.

I still feel a bit ambiguous about the tight crop below and on the right of the grass. Somehow, that close composition becomes more apparent in the colour version than in the B&W one. The effect of the imaginary line between the grass in the foreground and the hint at the straws in the background remains unaltered strong. Very intresting to see the difference, and a well exposed shot!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Lukasz,
thanks for your comment! I have review again your portfolio. That's stunning! I love overall your landscape opera. Magister. And this your last opera in color is perfect! lines and colors harmonize totally the composition. The light of early morning gives a touch of softness to your opera.
My very compliments,
M
