Warren, I know the problem with the digital zoom, the only solution is to use a tripod and set the self timer for 2 or 10 seconds, avoiding the shake induced distortion. The wavy glass is really what makes the shot. If you have access to the subject a lot then you can try some other conditions, Thanks!

Hi Rebecca, This is a reflection of a building with windows. It's in a wavy type of glass that gives a really distorted reflection.

Hi Mark, Thanks for your idea on how to make this a better shot. The camera I use has a fixed lens: combination 4x optical and 5x digital. Whenever I use the digital zoom (as I did with this shot) I get a distortion affecting the resolution. The unsharpen filter in PS sometimes helps a bit and I could have run it on this photo. What I really need at some point is an SLR with a decent zoom lens. In addition, some window reflections happen in what I call ?old? glass. The window gives a distorted wavy reflection, and has a less sharp resolution. This is one of those windows. I shot this underexposed a bit to avoid washing out the brighter elements, but maybe carried that a bit too far. I am happy with the cropping at the sides and bottom. The photo was shot on an angle and there was no way to get a balanced side to side crop. I used the bottom window sill as a guide for the crop and to avoid having too much of the air conditioner in the frame. However, including more of the façade above the window might have made this a more interesting shot. Thanks for you comments.

top reflection shot - they rarely come out as warming as this one.

Warren, OK here's my 2 cents. As a critique I'd say first the shot could be sharper... maybe a higher resolution is needed. The lighting is a little dull (different time of day for the shot?)and perhaps crop more evenly at the sides and bottom. It's a good subject and I know you could get a great shot of it...not too harsh I hope!

Very cool and unique vision. What is this a reflection of?
