beautiful photo and a great location. One thing that I noticed, though it seems your camera was rotate a little anticolockwise. The whole picture seems to lean to the right. Or is it the house that is slanting?

Tom: Thanks alot! Your comment means alot. I remember gazing at your "Bad Water" and "racetrack playa: storm coming " for a very extended period of time thinking I will never have a photo that good. Still don't.

You know I almost did a right click delete on this photo but I saw something in it that compelled me to go to work on it.

It was done in several layers. Each side of the house had it's own problem. After a few hours of PS work I am glad I did not delete it. It has become one of my favorite.

Thanks again for the complment.

pat, this is truly outstanding! excellent work. i'm not sure what you did exactly but it looks 3D. the house definitely pops off the background. it seems to be in sharper focus than the immediate surroundings. you also seem to have "extracted" the patina of the house and applied it to the photo as a whole. very cool. my compliments!

take care,
tom

ps - thanks so much for your recent comment. much appreciated.

Pat!
Before making this shot I'd take my time to rip the antenna out...or maybe it's just as fine as it is.

Thanks Greg, HIE is on my list. I do my own lab work and am just gettin E6 down to perfection. HIE like I say Is something I want to experiment with. Why do you say I would need an older camera. I do understand a lens with IR focus markings is needed.

A very fine photograph, Pat. Very fine. Perfectly lighted.
The frame bugs me a bit. But who cares ? it?s a beautiful image.

Did I tell you yet how beautiful this picture is?
Just think of this house not as an old building sitting forlorn on the fields, but a depository of human memories, and the people who built it and lived, worked and played here.

I find your photography very interesting and creative; excellent composition, play of light, and coloring.
