hey no worries.. I'll skip the happy holidays but as we still manage to not offend by saying Merry Christmas over her kekeke Umm Tassie... well its a tad difficult but the summer months (now Oct March) is the best time to visit but they have had some shocking fires down there recently.. I have been to Tassie for time and the last time I went I was speaking at a photographic conference in Hobart so I stayed there for a week then at Bicheno for a week then across to Strahan (Gordon River Cruise) for a week and then to Cradle Mtn for a week... the parks are all pretty awesome but if you wanted to do the Overland Track that starts at Cradle Mtn and goes thru to Lake St Clair with lots of mud leeches and spectacular scenery along the way. The South west national Park is awesome mountainous as blazes and extremely remote and inaccessible, but I think they do a fly in to Cox Bight still (they did when me lil brother walked through back in the good old days as they did a food drop for them there as a half way point in the walk) There are planned photographic walks too these days run by Richard Bennet the president (or former pres) of the AIPP runs regular walks through the area you could try them Eight For Tasmania email richard@richardbennett.com.au or for photo tours of the central highlands (Cradle St Clair walk) you could try www.tastex.com.au as they run photographic tours as well. Richards would be awesome and a wonderful photographer in his own right… Have fun and good luck with it it’s a beautiful small (takes about four days to drive round so four weeks is excellent!!) but yeah wonderful little bit of the planet. Out of season is not a terribly good time unless you are dedicated experienced and can self cope in the snow covered wilderness
