It is a lovely image, beautiful colours. However there does seem to be a dark area around the lone walker, which seems significant, - he has just passed into the shadows from the bright sun. There are times when we need/have to 'walk alone', sometimes in sun and happy reflections - sometimes in shade Margaret

A really beautiful image Chris. Maybe because there is no horizon my first thought was "where's his escape route?". Could be the recent events in Asia are still controlling my thoughts. Den

I like the composition Chris but a bit perplexed by your title. Why a lonely walk? Could just as easily be Lone Walker. Because one is alone it doesn't necessarily follow one is lonely! I personally hate crowds. Nice work as ever. Regards John

Beautiful colours and composition, Chris! The solitary walker really gives a sense of the dimensions, as well. A great image, and the symboligy is there, too, if you wish to look closer. Dave.

beautiful landscape and very nice composition Chris. the colors are fabulous. contemplative image, the man looks little compare the grand nature, and he is 'working hard' to survive and live in harmony with the nature

Hi Chris! This is wonderful! The waterline reminds Me of little pointy fingers reaching towards the shore! The person adds much depth to the scene and gives the feeling of solitude! Nice work My friend! My best always.........JOHN

Ohhh yes, I do believe there is a good analogy going on here! (should know the verse, but I don't)
Beautiful image, I love the towering cliffs and the tiny man walking (or trying to) alongside.
POWERFUL!

Thanks for the comment, Merete! That's the nice thing about 'art', (if I may use such a word to describe one of my photo's!!), different people see such different things! I like your idea, too ~ in fact, I'm sure it's nearer to the truth. Best regards, Chris

Dead right, dad ~ good spot! This was a really spectacular January day! The sky and light were amazing ~ perfect picture taking conditions. I only saw this chap when I put my big lens on ~ he added a great sense of scale to the picture. Using the full 300mm length had the effect of scrunching the cliffs up a bit which possibly makes them look even more dramatic. Thanks for the comment ~ and for yesterday!! Chris

It's amazing the difference between the geological landscape of this part of Devon with its reddish cliffs and that of its neighbour a few miles up the channel in Dorset Chris. This is a really nice landscape Chris. In the centre of the picture there would appear to be a flock of gulls, am I correct Chris! Regards Dad

Absolutely agree with Hugo comment. Your style is your and only your: no need to open the thumb, your shots are immediately recognizable. Another great one striclty well composed on the thirds rule.

The complimentary colors blue and orange, ( spectral opposites in the color wheel) in this photo really add a zing to the already strong composition. Van Gogh used those colors a lot for that reason.

I just feel he's sooooooooooo little...!! That nature always will be stronger and bigger than us no matter what we do... I'm not sure he's lonely... he's just enjoying the wonderfull weather... praising the nature...knowing he's nothing compared to this view! But..he's happy, cause he has accepted.. )
OK?? I like the view too... and these giants are great! And the sun..wow...I miss that!
Hugs..and take care Merete

Hi Chris, I could tell that this one was yours only by looking at the thumbnail... You're developing quite a consistent style in landscape photography. Very nice capture. What I like most about it is that you excluded horizon and sky from the composition. Good choice!
Cheers,
Hugo
