In large cities or towns, social equality between male and female is normal. Arrived Sa Pa, we understood the limit of such equality among minority people. But the situation we witnessed has been too much.
After the long trek, we gathered at Ta Van Bridge waiting for the pick-up jeep sent from Sa Pa. Here, we met a young couple: while the wife having her kid on the back, the husband was dividing the 110-lb bag of fertilization into two parts. We guessed he will make 2 transport-trips... What happened was, the husband took his half. The young lady rotated the kid to her front, then loaded her half to the back. As a matter of fact, she got to carry more around her body. I quickly recorded the unbelievable scene before the couple signaled me to not photograph them.
It's a beautiful picture and thank you for the story. Her expression of cautious happiness. Glad you stopped when they asked. she is dressed quite nicely for the work she seems to be doing. The babies expression is really cute.
