I think it detracts, but I can't see how you can crop it out without losing the best parts of the mountain.

$64 000 dollar question? I think you should leave the wing in since you had the option when you took the shot and surely with a view like this you took a lot more shots, I know I would have.

The wing really doesn't do it for me; perhaps if you had somehow shot the reflection from an angle closer to being perpendicular to the wing and incorporated it as a weightier element in the composition? *shrug*
The shadows on the mountain are great, though, and I like the way that the darker tones of the trees meld into the snowier surface higher up in the frame. In fact, I really like the tonal composition of the mountain in general. It's just unfortunate that the wing takes up such a large space in the shot, IMHO.

I like the 'roof' it creates in your image, Christine. Besides, not too many folks get to go up in a 182!
