Hi Craig,

There is one interesting book (actually its an ebook) out about the D70. I heard it is good, but I don't have it myself. I think it is $75 which I find a little steep.
I learned about all these things mostly by reading in the forums at www.dpreview.com

hey thanks for the compliments! David thanks for the info on the sensor, yea I had the asa to 1600..(forgot to check) I am new to all this and appreciate any comments to help myself gain more knowledge. aak I skipped the "Long exposure noise reduction" in the directions that is totally my fault. thanks again and my next night shot will have less noise.

regards

Craig

Don't worry about not being original. Show me one photos here that hasn't been done in a similar way before. There is nothing wrong in doing something that you have seen somewhere else. How original are my photos (portraits of children :)?

I noticed that in the upper left corner you get some bright spots. That is a D70 issue when doing very long exposure. It is at the same spot on all D70s. Some kind of electronic device behind the seonsor that heats it up is causing those spots.

You can get around this by take multibe exposures at shorter times and combine them in PS.

Also, for night shots with long exposure, don't use high ASA settings, but use the minimum (200 ASA). In the setup menue is an option called "Long exposure noise reduction". This setting should be turned off normally, but for those kind of photos, make sure to turn it on. It makes a huge difference reducing the noise.

Nice....How about side view of the bridge?
I think the execution of this photo over shadows the importance of originality.
Well done!
