About At The Seaside
When I was down beside the sea
A wooden spade they gave to me
To dig the sandy shore.
My holes were empty like a cup,
In every hole the sea came up'
Till it could come no more.

Taken last week end, in Rowayton, CT

nice little poem to go with the photo alison. i'm partial to these blues you have here..... in fact, so much inspired by my recent trip to thailand, that i'm thinking of doing only beach photography this coming summer. in various places.

Very relaxing and peaceful beach house.
Are these ducks in the water?
I like the blue tone of the clear sky, wonderful.
Nice work Alison,
Khaled.

This is a beautiful image with all those lines radiating away from the house. I wouldn't want to live there though in case the whole place filled up just like the holes he dug in the sand.

A photo with a great deal of visual interest and that repays attention. While details can often be distracting, here I find my gaze lingering over the beach, across to the stillness of the house, back to the roughly pebbled wall. Then there is the patch of tawny grass catching the late afternoon sun, the ducks, and the sandbar in the distance. It all "belongs" somehow. Many thanks.

Nice shot, Alison, with it's preponderance of blues and the lovely muted colors of winter! The pure tones and gradient in the sky are really nice, and I love the opposing swoops formed by the little jetty and the stone wall. There's just a little tilt to the right in the horizon... :)
Sorry I haven't been commenting recently!

I like how the curves bring your eye to the house, also the blue hues are beautiful. Great shot Alison. Tara : )

Very peaceful scene! I like the way you used the broad expanse of the sea in this image. The beach house seems dwarfed by that. The rock wall is a great lead to the house. Good colors, light, and details.
