Thanks Alessandro! You have an Optio S4i? The first thing you have to do is get a used 50mm f/2.8 lens. You can also buy an old (even non-SLR) film camera that has a f/2.8 or better lens (mine came from a non-SLR camera). Another good source of optics are 'old-school' camera repair shops that repair flim cameras. They usually have lens with broken mehanics that they would be glad to get rid of. Once you get the lens, try to diassemble it (remove any metalic parts you don't need to make it lighter). In ideal case you shoud be left with nothing more than a bare OTA (Optical Tube Assembly) - bare lens in a thin metalic housing. Making an adapter (to hookup the addon lens to your camera) is very camera-specific so I can't give you precise instructions. It shouldn't be too difficult, though. Mine was made from a plastic cap of a deodorant bottle :)

As for the focus, I have learned to trust the AF of my A75 (with AiAF turned off). Take a look at my photos to see what can be done with A75 (and A70). For macro photography you really don't need a dSLR.

Thanks for your trick...i will try it as soon as i'll buy my new reflex. Personally i consider a miracle the reuslt i have achieved with my Canon Powershot A70 (i.e. can't see focus and DOF apart using LCD screen!).
Bye. Ale

Really beautiful picture! Great composition and lighting! You can try adding a mirror or a plate filled with water and catching a reflection. You would get a perfect heart! :)
