Beautiful macro, Dottie, and great colors - I love the vibrant orange held out by the deep red stems! The out-of-focus orange berries in the background reinforce that overall palette. I don't dislike john's suggestion with it rotated, but it seems too 'literal' that way. I like it as you presented it - if anything, maybe a slight crop off the right to eliminate the two little branching buds? (and a quote by Kahlil Gibran to boot! :)

I like your words about memories and dreams!

Along with this excellent and simple-yet-elegant image. I find the composition very interesting and imaginative, with great colors and DOF.
LOVE the background with softly repeating berries of orange.

Very well done,
Lori ;)

WOnderful wonderful composition, signs of life and colour, the words are good, aas are many of his sayings/writings. One of the books I read on grief [while studying for counselling diploma] each chapter had a few words of his at the beginning, they very often summed up the whole of the chapters writing in a few words

Nice macro Dottie! I used to use berries like this as ammo for my sling shot, (when I was just a little younger) I could score hits on my brothers from a block away.... I was most fun when they where over ripe.

Perfect DOF, WOnderful detail!

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they?re here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly, I?m not half the man I used to be,
There?s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why she had to go I don?t know she woldn?t say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Mm mm mm mm mm.

Sorry, I had to be sentimental for a moment. Great picture Dots, I just wanted you to know the first thing that came into my head when I saw the photo and the title. Well framed and beautiful DOF. Where'd you take it?

Keep it up Dots, even though I know I didn't have to tell you that.

No PS editing on the DOF, only rotated it & cropped & resized in PS. Yes I guess that wide fstop is what helped me narrow the focus to just the berries. A new camera demands that you play around as much as possible. lol Dottie

Very fine macro, Dottie. You really getting into those edge treatments, aren't you? I think this works very well, but watch out for the Frame Police!
Cheers,

Very nice, but is DOF edited in PS (blur?) or is it f/3.5 that makes that significant blur?

Awesome colors and dof, Dottie. I like both rotations. Isn't it amazing how a turn can change completely the feeling of the shot? I think I'm patial to your original composition. It leads the eyes up. ( which is the way we should all be looking) :) Stay warm my friend.

The colour of the berries attracted me to the thumbnail Dorothy. I was worth looking further. I want to turn the image 90 degrees to the left.
