About My little brother and I were on a photoshoot many years ago. He was looking for something to shoot with his Instamatic when I took this. I didn't like the way his Navy coat showed up in the digital scan, so I thought I would take a page from Toni's portfolio and try colourizing. Not as good as yours Toni, but I'm happy with it for a first attempt.

The original print was on Kodak polycontrast doubleweight paper #3 contrast, but this was scanned from the negative.

Thanks very much for the compliment Kelly. I got a little lucky on this one, with some inspiration from Toni. BTW, You have an excellent portfolio. I love the style of your portraits.

Thanks Toni. His coat was so dark before that it didn't seem to do justice to the photo. I don't usually like to do this sort of thing, (adding colour to B&W ) and I originally tried adjusting the contrast and brightness in the coat. But, I have to admit, adding the colour in this case seems to make the rest of the picture stand out. Now I'm going to have to do some more.
Thanks again Andre

Imitation is the highest form of flattery...why would I be mad at you... I think it is adorable. Well seen and well done. I love the rear view of your brother looking into the barn, his posture, the tones and textures of the red contrasting with the smoothness of his coat, and those little flowers which poke up at the lower rim of the frame. It is now in my favorites. It would make a great greeting card. I hope you will send me one. Hugs. Antonia (Toni)
