About Just for fun I sent a few pictures to a photo-competition here in Iceland. The competition had various themes, one of them was "old". The photo I entered was called "barb wire". (my post to day) It came in 3rd place. Another theme was "nature patern" and the photo I entered " Nature at work" came in 2nd place. I will post it in my next post. This result isn't anything phenomenal, this was a little bit of luck because I fell to the ground into the snow, when I was looking for a subject, realised that it would be hard to get up and therefore I took these two photos before I got up, making good use of the fall.

Beautiful tones. Excellent clarity and DOF. I like the way the rust on the wire seems to correspond in tonality with the background, while the frozen drops correspond to the barb. The image can be interpreted philosphically as well. Beautiful work and congratulations on the award at the competition.

Great sharpness and dof - wonderful with this frozen drops. Iceland is a beautiful and also moody island for me. When i was there it was so strange with the absence of trees.

I wouldn't call that just luck. Perfect positioning of the subject and great use of DOF. I definitely love this shot.

Great job turning a fall into a positive outcome, icerock! This picture really caught my eye because of one I shot back in the 1970's (in a much warmer place!)
