An old (dying?) tree trunk in Monas Square. On the far end is the infamous Monumen Nasional (Monas - National Monument), of which the top end was covered with [deeply thin layer of] solid gold. Taken in around 7 'o pm, so it's not really deep in the midnight :-).
It's another experiment with film camera. Funny things about taking picture with film, we never know how good we get it until it's developed....
Hi Lori, thanks for the comment (and sharing your brief history :-) ). Well, I think you're right, I should just crop the bright objects on the right and focus on the trunk. I was thinking on putting the tower (National Monument) on the background, but it appears not so sharp.
Anyway, I did some film shoots when I was young too, with my old Fujica, but then I moved and left the equipment in my mother's house. Later on I found the equipment again and tried it on. Still works but not perfect... But you're right, Digital will live on! It's just it can't replace the old 'pain-in-the-stomach' feeling of "will-my-shoot-be-good" after taking a good shoot of a good object in a good composition ;-),
Hi Sony, It strikes me so funny to read that you are experimenting with a film camera...(age difference is showing here!!) I've used film cameras for 50 years!! (wow, if THAT doesn't make me feel OLD!) I started very young with cameras. When digital came about, I swore they could never take the place of film...I've now changed my mind. Since I sold all my studio equipment, I have not purchased a single roll of film!
Opps; sorry, I'm supposed to be commenting on your photos, not my life history!!
The is really AN OLD tree trunk, can't tell if it's dying or not. Good color and textures. I personally don't care for those two bright parts on the right.
YEs, I don't think I would want to go back to having to wait to see my results. There is nothing at all that I miss all that much about film. (I know everyone won't agree with me, and that's OK!!)
