About	Lake Mungo National Park is the remnants of an ancient lake system (20,000 years old) now long dried up in south west New South Wales (Australia). The Walls of China are the remnants of eroded sand dunes that were formed on the outer edge of the lakes and over time have eroded to form these white pillars showing the various layers that formed the dunes. As you walk around the vast area, you often come across ancient campfires once used by the Aborigines of the area and have been left untouched for eons. Truly an eerie and spectacular place to visit.

Hi Mark; this really is a striking and bizarre landscape-- and beautiful. I like everything about it-- the sky, the prominent and colorful knobs. Reminds me some of the Badlands of the Dakotas here in the states. Very interesting storyline too. Thanks for comments on my sand dagger abstract. Cheers. Craig
