This is my photographer friend, Matsukawa San, who inspires me to take better photographs every time we meet. Alas, he has moved to Shanghai, where he takes the most gorgeous photographs! This is a cropped section from a fisheye photo, defished. I really like the image quality of this Russian lens!
Thanks, Bertram. Yes, I saw how well he fitted into the background, and anyway I couldn't help including it because I only had my fisheye with me that day! He likes it so much he has sent it to his family (they stayed behind in Japan when he was posted to Shanghai). So it must be one of my better efforts. I DO like the perspectives all leading your eye to the figure... Isn't the Zenitar an astonishing value! Just a little over US$100 including P&P!
Very nice portrait, crisp and clear, all colours of his coat have a equivalent in the background a perfect harmonic integration ! Did you notice that when you shot ? Or was it instinct ? You seem to have a special feeling for this kind of composition anyway. I like it, it's a friendly photo!
I was only thinking about you this morning, Roger ~ wondering how you were? Excellent job with the 'defishing' and good to meet your photographer friend. Best regards, Chris
Lovely composition and photo of your friend, sad to lose a photographer friend, but I am sure you will keep in touch and keep inspiring each aother. Margaret
