Beautifully done! A fine example of the proper use of PS "darkroom" tools and the right vision to create it.

Very representative presentation of this muse, Mary. The angle and composition is dramatic. Nice BW tone and contrast, as well. Good work, congratulations!

Good idea Mary,
The image conveys a sort of morphing effect and after reading the review by Kosti, I have to agree, you have succeeded.

melpomene, as you indicate, comes forth in theatrical movement; she is destroying the frame to open a new one; a disolve into myth... a manchurian princess attached through her sleeves and gown to the edge is waiting for someone to release her from her torment... either your indication or the very first that popped in my mind before reading your about and title, show a capture of an inbetween situation. this is the frame that we don't see in the movies... and it is powerful dear mary :)

See my about note? "I wish to depict the Muses.. In Ancient Greece the forms of art were personalized in the nine Muses. This one is Melpomene, the muse for Tragedy." But..it is ghostly i know...My imagination...
