Ok, now yestarday when this image was taken it was 62 degrees at beaver creek, today we get a foot of snow at the flatirons down by my house!!!! funky weather... this was a different angle from the previous upload of a 40 foot rail that we were doing all day, i dont like the forshortining of the rail, its actually about 2 feet above the snow mound and a fun rail. This is a sequence of 6 images but i only used two and layered my freind in twice because otherwise they overlapped and looked weird... but if you see anything else i can do to change this one let me know im always up for suggestions????
hey kevin, dont i know about the solid landings on the east coast table tops... i was an amature rider for oneill clothing and airwalk boards while back east, but knowing that you have to either make the tabletops or stick your landing makes you a better rider out in the west where you can go big and only worry a little... ha ha ha, still have to make the landing though as i know all to well, i shattered my collar bone this year coming off a jump and hitting a girls board that fell when i was mid air and half way through a backside 180, i hit her board going like 20, flipped and felt it pop, surgery and a couple weeks later im riding again, now good as new and going to hike into the BC of breck tomorrow,
on the photo thing, i have a low angle on the previous upload but i couldnt get any closer to the rail than this otherwise my freind would have literally hit me, at this angle i was only a foot away from the rail... using a 10-22mm has its advantages but sometimes its almost to wide!!!! im going to try and shoot drops and backcountry tomorrow, ill upload and you can critique and let me know how im doing.. thanks again, ill make some powder turns for ya
Ok I am turning your photo into a skiing forum now, but I just had to add: Don't miss the east! I skied at Waterville Valley, NH today and the conditions were good for NE. After doing CO and NH in a week, I have to say I didn't realize how good you guys have it.
I am nursing a smashed foot from a flat footed landing off a jump. I threw a nice daffy, but fell short on the landing. I hit the lip, which was solid ice, perfectly flat. East Coast is the equivalent of skiing on concrete :)
On the photo thing: you should try to get a shot low on the rail looking up. Basicly jump over the camera (if you are willing to risk the camera). I think if you can get a good angle with a blue sky or blurred mountain-scape the rider will really pop out.
thanks for all your comments and suggestions, yeah, i totally know what you mean about the east coast, i grew up riding massanutten in VA, it was always icy, and i was a park rider for sure, but that makes me a better rider out here, used to sticking the landings and trying my hardest on the rails, i do miss the east sometimes though...
