I think people on this site are interested in sports shots, but don't know how to comment on them, probably becuase most of them don't shoot sports and probably don't ride rails like that monster rainbow that you are on. I'm supposed to go Kite-Snowboarding this weekend, but if there isn't any wind, I"ll meet up with you on BC for sure, or if you go to Vail I can show you some runs that are incredible. Oh, And when you called the other day my phone was off so I never got your number.

hey steve, thanks for your comments on my photo's, i love your surf photography, i moved to colorado last june from the new jersey shore where i surfed everyday, i miss it, so im living through your eyes for surfing... for now im just getting back into rails for snowboarding, like you with your accident i actually did distroy myself this year, shattered colar bone, so bad it was almost sticking out my back... needed surgery and now its wrapped with fiber wire and held in place, the image you commented on is me doing the rainbow rail, my first rail since the fall and it really put fright back into me... airing into the rail probably wasnt the way to do it!!!! thanks again for your comments, i really look forward to more surf photog from you

i definitely enjoy phil, keep it up! Maybe we should find a more sports oriented site to show our snowboarding and surfing shots? i dont know. I agree that this would probably be better from the other side but i also think the shadow being cast looks cool. In about August I will post some of my snowboarding photos for you! No rails though! Gave them up when i almost ended up with a smashed knee cap last year in canada. You see, i ride a Ride Timeless, which is probably the stiffest board going round, great for free riding, especially powder, but it seems to have a mind of its own on rails.

I will pray for powder this season and hopefully get some good free riding shots! Until then, its the surfing shots only. Looks like a good swell will arrive in time for easter so hopefully i will get some good ones next weekend.

Phillip,

Vance is right... you gotta shoot this from the other side. The rider is too dark. You can't really tell what's going on. Shoot it from the side where the sun hits the rider. If you have the means, stick a flash in there to make that rider pop as well. I ride alot. In fact at the moment I'm in Avon right now... I'll probably ride the beav' tomorrow... unless we get some snow. Peace... keep it up.

I quite enjoy them, nd the sport (I've ridden since '91) I would have liked to see this shot from the other side to see the rider face. Look forward to seeing more.
