About These icicles on our cabin in the bush caught my attention. I think Mother Nature was feeling creative. It may be just my weird perception, but I see (L to R)an Angel Fish, a Goose, a Cat climbing up, a graceful Hummingbird, a strange Fish, and a Rooster-Rabbit cross. I did no touch up to the icicles. I find it interesting the ways the 'eyes' are so well placed. Sort of neat, don't you think?

I have to go way back in time to find photos of yours I have not yet commented on and this lovely product of nature and you, dear Mary, caght my eye.
Thank you for your very kind comments on my "Light from within 3" and "Broadcasting."
Actually, writing the stories was already a sort of abreaction for Rachel.
Best regards,
Rafi

Very good observation, Mary. They really are very interesting icicles, and I made up different animals... mostly birds except for a squirrel (second from the right)

Your capture is perfect for the icicles, but perhaps there is a bit too much snow shown.

Wow! Why is this the first time I've noticed this one? What an eye! It's like seeing images in the clouds :) Something about them reminds me of Christmas ornaments, amazing how beautiful nature can be and how we can personalize so many things with it. I wonder how this would look in black and white? Sorry if someone has already asked, this you have so many comments on this one I haven't read through them...Well-done!

Very well seen, Mary! Yes -- the shapes suggest whimsical animals and that it was some sort of little game being played out. Fun!! The ice and snow against the wood texture is great too. And yes -- it DOES look like a charm bracelet!

And to think what kind of superficial meaning I would have obtained from this image had I not read your description! I see it now and I'm impressed. Might I suggest just a little curves/levels adjustment to get a little more texture from the snow rather than a white mass? Great job.

I do see the mouse in your picture. Our eyes are always looking for familiar patterns. I think it is rather fun.

Thanks, Stephano. You are right about the snow. Right now, in Ontario, it is finally beginning to look like spring.

I love seeing and looking for shapes in things, this is really interesting and well spotted. I have just posted a shot of some catkins and to me one is so much like a mouse, - others can see it too - so I'm know I'm not completely mad LOL

I see a hen in the 3rd (from Left), a stork/egret in the 4th, small fox hiding under bushes in the 5th. The last one a goat mixed with something else. This is a lot fun, Mary. Great capture.

Elizabeth O'Neal   {K:4436} 3/18/2005
Very nice and lots of imagination used. I agree about the white, it doesn't add anything to the photo.

  0

Mary Brown   {K:71879} 3/18/2005
Dirck, thanks for your comments. I inderstand what you mean about less white. Actually, I tried to crop it out more. However, then the picture became short and longer and I had a hard time getting it to right measurements to post, so I just left the white in. I really appreciate getting suggestions on how to improve my pictures as I am so new at this. Thanks. Mary

What a wonderful shot, Mary! It was great reading your 'About' because I was able to see every one of the animals you described clearly! (I think my favorite is the fat cat climbing! :)
The rustic wood makes a great background for showcasing these sculptures - well seen! Maybe just a little less of the white?
p.s. Thanks so much for your comment on my photo!

I see a woman in the first (I know some strange women), and a groundhog in the third. What I see in the rest is just too disturbing for Usefilm :-) The framing and composition are very well balanced. It's also quite neat to know that you are the only person in the Universe to have captured this image and that there will not be another one like it, oops I'm getting a bit heavy now.

It is a great picture Mary and thank you for your very nice comment on my "Half Moon" picture.

Congratts

Nidge.

Thank you, Shane. Such a compliment from you means a lot. I can't take credit for the background, though. I guess that goes to the guys who built the cabin years ago. I was just standing outside and noticed the icicles hanging from the roof. They looked so neat. I am glad I had my camera with me. Mary
