About Trying something new for me - used only backlighting, toned in PSP9, and I think I had my macro button on. I was holding the camera out, so I'm sure it's a little blurred from that. I need to get out the tripod, huh? :) Any advice? Thanks.

One of the most sensual parts of the female body be personally.
Very beautiful!
I see the little blurred, but it is so little, that the created game is as of the filter "flou", very soft..
I like it , your self-portrait!
This photography it was possible to play either on the hair or the drop.
cheers
roby

Thanks Alvin! It has been quite a while since I've used a SLR - in college photography 7 years ago. I was wondering if it would be more difficult. My husband makes fun of my "point and shoot," and I know it's time for an upgrade. You have some really awesome photographs with your Coolpix4500. My goal is to take clearer (large) photos that can be used to decorate with and also need a camera that can do good macro shots as well as fast-action like horse shows - catching them jumping. I am completely shocked at prices and all the numbers and info can be overwhelming (esp. while keeping up with 2 toddlers who don't like me to spend much time on the computer :) Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thanks again.

Nice composition. I like the curves of your body, in photographic sense I mean. Took me a minute to figure out what it is.

I am writing mainly cos I saw you asking about the Nikon D70. I got one myself since 8 months ago and have been shooting more photos ever since. I would say, for the one out of ten photos I get out of my Nikon Coolpix 4500, I only need to shoot once with the D70, because I have more control over the exposure.

If you have not been using an SLR previously, there may be a bit of a learning curve tho once you learn the control, it is a great tool for making photos.

I would recommend this camera over the Canon, as it is the only camera other than the Olympus that has sensor dust control. Olympus actually uses ultrasonics to shake dust specks off the sensor while Nikon uses software to take out dusts. (You will have to get Nikon Capture.)

I would also suggest you to get better lens than the 18~70mm that comes in the package. One thing to note tho, is that the camera weighs a lot and hurts my back after an afternoon of wandering. (Tho I am in bad shape)

Anymore questions, write me at float@netvigator.com. I had a lot of trouble choosing camera cos it was difficult to find information and I wish you don't have to do the same.

Amazing Andrea. Its incredible how such a small, cropped part of the body can be so sexy. Very cool. The blur actually works in this instance, a metaphor for how a persons vision actually becomes commpromised inder certain circumstances!

Thanks Mel and Tiff! Melanie, I really appreciate that since you have such great self-portraits!
Tiff, that was my main objective with this pic - experiment with toning. I see so many people here who achieve great toning and I was clueless how they did this with a digital. On this pic, I did clarify, then when I went to Automatic Color Balance, I saw that I could unclick remove color cast - I had never tried this before - neat effect. Then I added sepia toning to about 75. I also messed around with the channel mixers and color balance sections, but didn't like the look with those. I might try them out on a different type photo. Thanks again for the comments!
