About Nadia works at the Barcardi restaurant in St. Jean on St. Barth. Like more French restaurant, there is always a bar. She runs the bar with an iron hand and a wonderful friendly demeanor. I found her very beautiful and took this shot on location at 1600 iso setting with fill flash.

You'll be surprised to learn Shawn that I am still using PS 5.5. And yes, I did work in PS. I made the image sepia and applied the noise filter. I am thinking of upgrading to PS 9. I see wonderful work on this site. Thanks Shawn for your comment and you're welcome. Regards, Andree

I still really like this photo! Are the tones and lighting natural or was there PS editing afterwords?

I am using PS 7.0, is it worth upgrading to CS?

and one last question,

Can you recommend any good sources for learning PS for photographers?

Thanks again for your constant help. I am learning much from you.

Shawn

Dear Andree,
Nice expression captured, lovely eyes she has..:) Perhaps if you include the bar tables and bottles as the background, her expression might will be more telling. Anyway, this is a very good portraiture, my friend. Congratulations.

Thank you for your nice words and comment. I add my signature after I have reduced the size of the image as it will show on the web, still in TIF format. I create a new layer and use the letter tool that can be filled with color. After I've filled the letters, I go to layers, effect, and bevel and emboss. I then flatten the image and save it in JEPG for the web. I am still using PS 5.5 I am ugrading soon to the latest version of PS. Hope that helps. Andree

Oh yes Andree she is beautiful your picture captures more than just what is seen strength with softness perhaps a little sad? Stunning shot.
If you are able and it isn't too much of a problem will you tell me how to sign my photos with a layer. I am totally ignorant with layers but have Photoshop 7.
